Here are eight restaurants that visitors on Tripadvisor say you must go to in New Mexico when you visit.

Each restaurant was the top-rated one in its respective city.

Antiquity Restaurant (Albuquerque)

Antiquity Restaurant is a can't miss destination on your trip to New Mexico. This higher-priced restaurant features fresh seafood, charcoal-grilled steaks, fowl, lamb, and veal. This is rated the No. 1 restaurant in Albuquerque by Tripadvisor users.

One visitor says,"from the warm and accommodating welcome at the door, to the perfect service, to the wonderful cuisine, I had a wonderful dinner, will return whenever I am back in Albuquerque." If you're looking for recommendations, a TripAdvisor reviewer suggested the gazpacho, saying, "the starter was a cup of chilled Gazpacho, which was the best I've ever had."

The Ranch House (Santa Fe)

Founded in 2005 by Josh Baum and Ann Gordon, the restaurant was originally set up to showcase Baum's passion for smoked meats.

Customers enjoy the brisket and often find themselves ordering more. One customer wrote, "I ordered brisket and my wife a salad. We split both but the brisket was so good we ordered another."

Another customer raved about their server TJ saying, "the food is consistently good and flavorful. This visit was enhanced by the excellent skill of the server, TJ. He made our dining experience exceptional."

La Posta de Mesilla (Las Cruces)

La Posta De Mesilla is located in Las Cruces has been open since 1939 and is now a registered national historic landmark.

Restaurant goers here enjoy their selection of margaritas. One reviewer said, "we loved this restaurant!! Everything was just delicious- from the margaritas (huge selection) to the entrees." One recommendation is the La Posta combination plate which features taco, chili relleno/enchilada, and con carne.

Three Rivers Eatery and Brewhouse (Farmington)

Three Rivers brewery opened its doors to Farmington residents in 1997. The restaurant focuses on craft beers and American food. This restaurant has a long history, including a visit from former President Bill Clinton.

One customer enjoyed the creativity on the menu saying, "we really appreciate a restaurant that puts so much effort into creative cooking. I had the cherry pecan chicken salad. A meal in itself." If you can't decide what to order one reviewer said," I ordered the chicken fried steak with green chile. It was amazing the food showed up very fast."

Saxony Steak Room (Hobbs)

Saxony Steak Room is an steakhouse located in Hobbs. Since the restaurant is popular, if you plan to dine after 5 p.m. a reservation is recommended.

One customer praised the restaurant saying,"Omg this is the best steak in town. My food was cooked prefect. Also service is fast and friendly." A recommendation from a local resident is the Bourbon Street ribeye and Chef Nick's famous soup.

Turtle Mountain Brewing Company (Rio Rancho)

The Turtle Mountain Brewing Company has been serving Rio Rancho residents since 1999. The restaurant menu offers burgers, pizzas, calzones, and grinders along with an on-premise brewhouse. TMBC has around a dozen of their beers on tap for customers.

One customer said they enjoy the brewhouse just for the food. They said that, "I don’t drink alcohol, so I can’t rate the broad selection of brews. I had a burger that was just right. Haven’t had a good burger in a while."

Cowboy Cafe (Roswell)

Head into the restaurant that allows you to feel like you're in a Western movie. This restaurant is an American food café that serves breakfast all day.

One customer said breakfast is highly recommended, "because of reviews we decided to have breakfast at the Cowboy Cafe and we’re not disappointed. The food and service were great. Highly recommended!!!" Try The Cowboss burger, which is over 3 pounds of ground beef, cheese, and toppings. If you eat the burger in 60 minutes or less, they'll comp it off your bill.

Jerry's Cafe (Gallup)

Jerry's Cafe is not only the top -rated restaurant in Gallup but was stamped with a Travelers' Choice award in 2024. The restaurant features a mixture of Mexican, American, and Southwestern foods.

One customer claimed this as, "one of the best Mexican restaurants in New Mexico. They have amazing food and many different choices. They are very busy around 6 p.m. so it is best to arrive early." Lots of customers recommend the chicken enchiladas for a meal.
