What makes

a vault toilet great?

A few things make a vault toilet great.

First, it must be unlocked.

Second, it should include an ample supply of clean toilet paper. (Though you should always carry a bit in your pocket before venturing toward one of these better-than-outhouses).

Third, it should be relatively insect and animal free.

“It was the best vault toilet I ever used,” said Charlie Ervin after a recent visit to one in the Carson National Forest. (GO New Mexico isn’t divulging its GPS coordinates because we don’t want bad campers to mess it up. Four stars to those who keep it clean.)
