Recognizing the company’s contributions to Albuquerque Public Schools, the APS Education Foundation has named the Public Service Company of New Mexico its 2024 outstanding corporate partner.

Shannon Barnhill, executive director of the APS Education Foundation, in a statement noted PNM’s monetary contributions as well as the time its employees devote to schools.

PNM gives presentations at schools about how students can conserve energy and save on electricity, and the company leads the annual School Supply Drive for supplies and funds, according to APS.

APS said the company also worked with the APS Education Foundation to provide resources and funding for mental health sessions following the death of a Washington Middle School student in 2021.

“We are in awe of the gifts of time and treasure that PNM has provided over the years and the positive student outcomes it brings,” Barnhill said.

Laurie Roach, PNM Resources Foundation executive director and PNM public affairs manager, said the recognition from the APS Education Foundation is truly an honor.

“We plan to continue our active support of the invaluable resources they provide for their students,” she said.
