They may have been too busy dreaming to pay their insurance.

Dreamstyle Remodeling New Mexico is being sued by Everest Premier Insurance Company, a Delaware-based company, for $212,144. The lawsuit was filed Oct. 23 in 2nd Judicial District Court.

The remodeling company offers full-home renovations, with its websites boasting, “Dreamstyle Remodeling is truly America’s No. 1 Remodeler.”

The company started in 1989 and now has nine stores throughout the western U.S. The company has two New Mexico locations, which are the target of the lawsuit.

The plaintiff, Everest Insurance Company, is claiming that Dreamstyle Remodeling New Mexico was provided insurance coverage by Everest in 2021 through 2023 but has yet to finish paying the bill.

Grammer Law Offices is representing Everest Insurance Company.

"The lawsuit speaks for itself," said attorney David Grammer.

Dreamstyle Remodeling didn't respond to a request for comment. Court records do not list an attorney for Dreamstyle.

The total bill for services rendered by the insurance company for three years was $1 million, of which Dreamstyle has paid $806,515, according to the lawsuit.

The plaintiff claims Dreamstyle had previously agreed to pay off the debt but later refused, compelling the need for a lawsuit.

On top of $212,144 owed, the plaintiff is seeking a 15% interest on the debt, which would total $31,821 in 2025.

Everest is also seeking coverage of attorney fees and court costs.
