The Farmacy, popular brunch spot in Nob Hill, permanently closes
A Nob Hill brunch staple has shuttered its doors for good.
Owners of The Farmacy, a popular eatery located at 3718 Central SE, took to social media to announce the permanent closure of the business on Wednesday.
The owners did not give a reason for the closure but thanked the community for its support through “good times and bad,” citing the COVID-19 pandemic, break-ins and bursting water mains as examples of the more trying times.
The news surprised Albuquerque resident John Schoeppener. He had just finished a morning run on Thursday when he decided to stop by the restaurant in hopes of finding a light weekday crowd. He found a closure note instead.
“They’re a popular place, I’m surprised,” Schoeppener said.
Chef Jacob Elliot and Mary Hammack opened the restaurant in the Sawmill District in 2016 before moving to the Nob Hill space in 2018, according to Gil’s Thrilling (And Filling) Blog.
“Over the last decade, we have enjoyed being a part of the community, getting to know you personally, and watching your children grow,” the owners said in the Oct. 15 Facebook post. “You will be sorely missed.”
