The sister company of popular local pizza chain Dion’s has opened a second location.

Tula’s Kitchen and Cocktails opened this month at 5021 Pan American NE, near Cinemark Century Rio Plex 24 and XD.

The 7,000-square-foot sit-down restaurant is the second Tula’s location in Albuquerque. The first opened in October 2022 in La Cueva Town Center near Wyoming and Paseo Del Norte.

Jon Patten, Tula’s co-founder, said the expansion to Interstate 25 and Jefferson allowed the company to serve a greater swath of Albuquerque.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive feedback at our first location,” Patten said.

Tula’s officials described the aesthetic of the new restaurant as “modern” and comfortable. The location boasts two private dining rooms for special events — one of which can accommodate 28 guests and is equipped with audio and visual technologies for presentations and meetings.

The building, which previously housed a Nick and Jimmy’s restaurant, was designed by Jennifer Goguen of Goguen Design Studio. Peter Butterfield served as the architect and Insight Construction was the general contractor, according to the news release.

Tula’s menu has a wide range of offerings, from pan-seared salmon to chicken strips and sandwiches.

“Tula’s Kitchen is about fostering connection and community through food,” said Mark Herman, CEO of Tula’s and Dion’s.
