Bernalillo County has partnered with the city of Albuquerque and Rokh, a research and design studio, to conduct a census of all the visual art across the city and county that can be seen from public thoroughfares in order to catalog the art and learn more about the artists behind the pieces, a news release said.

This is the second time Rokh has conducted an art census like this. The company hired local artists to conduct the survey, the release said.

Canvassing of Albuquerque public art has wrapped up, and the crew will move on to county spaces by late spring.

The full report is expected to be completed by late fall.

"Once the data is compiled, the county will be better able to understand what spaces are lacking art and ensure that awards for public art programs are distributed more equitably in the future," the release said.
