Mac and cheese — the golden, cheesy dish — which is a classic favorite, is a popular item at many Albuquerque restaurants.

From gourmet, to classic, to spicy, here are five customer-favorite places to enjoy delicious mac and cheese in Albuquerque.

This list was put together with the help of Google reviews.

1. D.H. Lescombes Winery and Bistro

This casual bistro, with a sun-drenched patio, features French country cuisine, local wine and live jazz. It's a cozy environment to enjoy mac and cheese.

A customer review: “First time here since the name change, from St Clair, so a while. Same family. Friends invited us to live music. The music was great. We sat on the patio. When we called, the staff said we didn't need reservations, when we arrived staff asked if we had reservations, luckily we got a nice patio seat, just funny. Plenty of food options and they pair the food with a suggested house wine. Interestingly enough most dishes are paired with their Pinot, which tonight, they were out of..... Food was excellent. From the appetizers to main dishes. Definitely coming back and would recommend.”

Address: 901 Rio Grande Blvd. NW B-100 (505) 317-3998

Hours: open Sunday - Thursday 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Friday - Saturday 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.

2. Flying Star and Cafe

This relaxed cafe chain serves up globally-influenced American fare, including all-day breakfast. It’s no wonder this is a customer-favorite for mac and cheese in Albuquerque. Flying Star serves up this delicious dish with the option of crispy or grilled chicken, and broccoli.

Pro tip: per customer reviews you may want to order your mac and cheese on the side if you’re not a fan of other items being served atop this dish.

A customer review: “Fantastic food, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The green chili burger is amazing! The loaded fries and mac-and-cheese are great picks, too. If you don't know what level of pepper to get, ask for "Christmas on the side."

Available as a side item, you can order a small or large serving. Since 1972, Gold Pride has been known for serving delicious plates from their multiple Albuquerque locations.

Good food from the BBQ chicken to a simple burrito. Stop by any time for a good, tasty and reasonably priced meal!”

A customer review: “Friendly, highly attentive wait staff, with a wide variety of options to eat and drink. Lots of free parking at the front door for customers. The background music was at low enough volume that you could comfortable talk with a group of friends for hours and clearly hear what they said to you. Food came out hot and fresh and tasted good. Reasonable, affordable prices for food. Spotless clean large, multiple stall restrooms with no line to use the restroom. No line for a table inside. And outdoor patio seating was also available. Well decorated interior with local stuff.”
