How to get married for $25 in Albuquerque this Valentine's Day
Bernalillo County Clerk Linda Stover, center, officiates a Valentine's Day wedding at her office in Downtown Albuquerque in 2019.
Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court has announced the return of in-person Valentine's Day weddings.
This is the first time in three years the ceremonies will be conducted in person, they have been virtual since 2021, a news release said.
"This marks the 24th year in which the Metropolitan Court Judges have been performing Valentine’s Day weddings for the public, and there’s even more excitement around the event this year with the return of in-person ceremonies,” said Presiding Civil Division Judge Frank A. Sedillo in a statement.
Ceremonies will take places from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14.
The County Clerk's Office also has appointments available between 9-11:30 a.m.
Couples interested in tying the knot on Valentine's Day can sign up for an appointment by calling 505-841-8285.
A marriage license must be obtained beforehand and two witnesses must also be present.
Marriage licenses cost $25 — payments can be made with cash or a credit card — and are available at the County Clerk's Office located on the first floor at Alvarado Square, 415 Silver SW.
