This northern New Mexico town was named in the top 15 on the list of most 'Christmasy' towns
Taos was New Mexico’s highest growth city in 2023, according to a U-Haul study.
Taos ranked 12th on the list of the top most "Christmasy" towns across the U.S., which ranked the top 75 towns with the "strongest Christmas vibes," a news release said.
The list, assembled by online photo book printing service mixbook.com, polled 3,000 Americans to compile the list.
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee took first place, followed by Durango, Colorado and Lake Pacid, New York took third.
Surprisingly, the North Pole — Santa's alleged hometown — only ranked 10th on the list.
Taos is tucked in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and is well-known for its historical adobe architecture, which at Christmastime is illuminated by farolitos — sometimes called luminaries — and holiday events such as a Yuletide celebration, a folk art pop-up shop, and a Twirl Aglow party.
