Winter weather delays trash pickup in Albuquerque

The city of Albuquerque has announced trash and recycling pickup will be delayed by a day as a result of winter weather on Monday.

Monday customers will receive service Tuesday, Jan. 9. Tuesday customers will get trash pickup on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Wednesday customers will receive service on Thursday, Jan. 11. Thursday customers will get their trash picked up on Friday, Jan. 12. And Friday customers will be serviced on Saturday, Jan. 13.

The Department of Municipal Development worked Sunday night into Monday morning to salt roads and clear arterial streets, a city news release said.

The release asked drivers to stay 50 feet back from salt spreaders and use cautions while driving in winter weather.

More winter weather is expected to hit the Metro area Thursday as a third winter storm system makes its way across western and central New Mexico.
