New Mexicans might know the taste of elote, a Mexican street corn dish slathered with crema and topped with cotija cheese, lime and chili powder. For anyone craving the kick of this savory snack, here are four places that offer elote in Albuquerque.
1) El Merito
This food truck sits on the corner of Carlisle and Candelaria, as a brick and mortar of the El Mero Mero restaurant. The food truck serves elote en vaso (elote in a cup or jar), full elotes on the cob and an elote topped with Taki dust, also known as the Taki elote. The food truck also offers items like flan, mangos with chamoy and fresca con crema.

2) Paleteria Michoacana El Paraiso
El Paraiso serves a variety of elotes, drinks and desserts to satisfy the palette. Elotes include the Elotes Locos which comes with mayo, butter, Valentina hot sauce and topped with Hot Cheeto powder. Their other elote is the Elotes Chorreados, which is elote in a cup. Customers can personalize the cupped elote with chips of their choice, nacho cheese and hot sauce. Other menu items include paletas, clamatos and tortas.

3) La Reforma Brewery
La Reforma Brewery serves Mexican classics, including elote. The restaurant serves a classic elote with mayo, salt and lime, or served straight on the cob. Pair it with a beer or cocktail made by the brewery. Other menu items include tacos, tortas and quesadillas.

4) Churro Y Corn
This Sawmill Market restaurant serves two things: churros and corn. Elotes are made with butter, lime, a choice of mayo or crema and queso fresco or cotija cheese. For an upcharge of $1, customers can add Hot Cheetos on top of their corn. For anyone wanting a smaller portion size, Churro Y Corn sells half cob elotes as well.
