Adding to the mystery: 'Dark Winds' adds 9 to season three cast, filming begins in NM
There will be some familiar faces joining the “Dark Winds” universe for season three.
AMC and AMC+ announced its slate of guest cast for the upcoming season which is filming in New Mexico. The third season is set to air in 2025.
The guests will join Zahn McClarnon as Joe Leaphorn, Jessica Matten as Bernadette Manuelito and Kiowa Gordon as Jim Chee on the series.
Joining the cast for season three are Jenna Elfman as FBI Special Agent Sylvia Washington, Bruce Greenwood as Tom Spenser, Raoul Max Trujillo as Budge, Tonantzin Carmelo as Border Patrol Agent Eleanda Garza, Alex Meraz as Border Patrol Agent Ivan Muños, Terry Serpico as Border Patrol Senior Chief Ed Henry, Derek Hinkey as Shorty Bowlegs, Phil Burke as Michael Halsey, and Christopher Heyerdahl as Dr. Reynolds.

According to AMC, season three picks up six months after the events of season two and follows Leaphorn and Chee as they investigate the disappearance of two boys, with only an abandoned bicycle and blood-stained patch of ground left in their wake.
Meanwhile, Manuelito attempts to settle into her new life 500 miles from home with the Border Patrol, but stumbles across a conspiracy involving human and drug smuggling with far-reaching implications.
Series regulars Deanna Allison as Emma Leaphorn and guest star A. Martinez as Scarborough Police Department Acting Chief Gordo Sena return for the new season.
The series is based on the iconic Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman.
It is created by Graham Roland.
John Wirth serves as showrunner.
