Andrea Magee had a vision to create a festival that brings together women.

She Rises Music Festival debuted in 2023 and the festival is returning for the second year on Labor Day weekend at Kit Carson Park in Taos.

The lineup this year features YOLA, KT Tunstall, Jade Bird, Big Richard Band, Three Women & The Truth, and the Women’s Indigenous Choir.

Magee says more musicians will be announced as the date gets closer.

On Aug. 30, Deana Carter and Austin supergroup PAACK, composed of frontwomen from Madam Radar, Andrea Magee/Beat Root Revival, The Reverent Few and Cari Hutson & Good Company will perform a VIP concert.

Magee, alongside her business partner Sarah Hearne with High Desert Entertainment, LLC, have built a boutique destination festival led by, created by and nurtured by women to encourage women and have curated a one-of-a-kind all-female lineup that celebrates the diverse voices and talents of women in music.

Rooted in the motto “When She Rises, We Rise,” the She Rises Festival also presents an intimate, inclusive and unique opportunity for a girls’ weekend getaway or retreat.

“We are thrilled to bring the She Rises Music Festival to Taos again,” Magee says. “It’s more than just music — it’s about empowerment, community, and making a difference. Inspired by Brandi Carlile’s ‘Girls Just Wanna Weekend,’ She Rises stands as a beacon of empowerment and inclusion in the music industry. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to She Rises and share in the joy and inspiration of our unique festival, we promise this is an experience like no other.”

Magee says She Rises is more than just a music festival — it’s a platform for showcasing and celebrating female musicians, entrepreneurs, and creatives from around the world.

“By attending She Rises, festival-goers not only enjoy an incredible musical experience but also contribute to making a meaningful impact in communities worldwide,” Magee says. “Our nonprofit facilitates access to music education, therapeutic programs, and community initiatives, empowering individuals and underserved communities while also providing leadership and employment opportunities for women in the music industry.”
