Books on the Bosque to host several author events this week
AT BOOKS ON THE BOSQUE
Linda Brewer will discuss and sign copies of “Bear Mountain Lodge Cookbook: Unique Recipes, Anecdotes and Art from a New Mexico Treasure” at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6.
Philip Fracassi will talk about his book “The Third Rule of Time Travel” at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 12. In the sci-fi novel, a scientist has unlocked the secret of time travel, but there are rules that you can never break. The third rule is “the traveler has no ability to interact with the past, they can only observe …”
Fracassi is a Los Angeles-based author and screenwriter.
Kate Niles will discuss and sign her book “The Last Hanging of Angel Martinez” at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13. Niles is the author of a poetry collection, two novels and a mystery.
Books on the Bosque is located at 6261 Riverside Plaza Lane NW.
AT BOOKWORKS
The bookstore will host Albuquerque poet Margaret Randall, who will read from her latest poetry collection “Wild Card” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 9.
In a blurb, Minrose Gwin states, “These are poems that nourish the soul and the ear: a long cool drink from Margaret Randall’s deep well of wisdom.”

AT TREASURE HOUSE BOOKS & GIFTS
Treasure House Books & Gifts will present several author events this week.
From noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, longtime New Mexico novelist Steven F. Havill will talk about “If It Isn’t One Thing …” which is the title of his 27th “Posadas County Mystery.”
From 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12, Sue Houser will sign “Walter Steps to the Plate,” her book for young readers.
From 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13, Benjamin Radford signs copies of his book “America the Fearful.”

AT COLLECTED WORKS
The bookstore will host two author events this week.
At 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6, Grandmother Flordemayo and Heather will tell “stories from the heart and reflect on the teachings that guide us forward.” Flordemayo is one of the elders in the book “Grandmothers’ Wisdom: Living Portrayals from the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers.”
At 6 p.m. Thursday, April 10, Brooke Williams discusses his new book “Encountering Dragonfly: Notes on the Practice of Re-Enchantment.” The discussion includes a conversation with poet Kyce Bello.

AT GERONIMO’S BOOKS
Santa Fe poets Tommy Archuleta and Natachee Momaday Gray will read from their work at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 12. Archuleta is the Santa Fe poet laureate. Gray, a Santa Fe native, is also an artist, filmmaker and fiction writer.

AT SOMOS SALON
Three poets — Jean Nordhaus, Leslie Ullman and Sawnie Morris — will read from their work at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at SOMOS Saloon, 108 Civic Plaza Drive, Taos.
Nordhaus has published nine volumes of poetry; her work has also appeared in the Hudson Review, the New Republic and the 2007 Pushcart Prize anthology. Ullman has published seven poetry collections, the latest being “Unruly Tree” by University of New Mexico Press. She has also written “Library of Small Happiness,” a hybrid book of craft essays, poems and writing exercises. Morris’ poetry collection “Her, Infinite” won the 2016 New Issues Poetry Prize.
