1Let’s talk turkey

Tenpins & More is hosting the 19th New Mexico Open bowling tournament this weekend. The tournament is open to all bowlers who are current members of the United States Bowling Congress. The tourney runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18; 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19; and from 8 a.m. until the final pin drops on Sunday, Aug. 20. 2Super stars

The Jemez Historic Site is hosting a star party event at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19. Along with guided viewing of stars, planets and more, enjoy Pueblo food and art vendors. Then, come back the next morning at 10 a.m. and learn more with “Looking to the Skies.” Admission to the event is $10 (children are free), and includes admission to the site on Sunday, Aug. 20, at my.nmculture.org.

3Goal oriented

If the late night-early morning games of the Women’s World Cup are making it hard for you to get your soccer fix, the University of New Mexico Lobos will be hosting Northern Arizona at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20. Tickets to the match are $5, plus fees, at golobos.com. UNM Soccer Complex is located at 1800 Avenida Cesar Chavez SE.

4Seafarers unite!

Wildlife West Nature Park is hosting a two-day Pirate Viking Summer Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20. Enjoy live mermaids, sword dancing, craft and food vendors and more. Tickets are is $25 for adults, $15 senior/military/veteran, kids 17 and under come in free with adult, plus fees, at piratevikingsummerbash.com. Tickets are also available at the gate. Wildlife West Nature Park is located at 87 W. Frontage Road in Edgewood.

5Best in show

The 101st Santa Fe Indian Market takes to the plaza from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, and Sunday, Aug. 20. Enjoy the work of Indigenous artists from across the U.S. and Canada. The event is free.

6Bringing the heat

The Bosque Chile Fest is coming to the Villa Hispana from 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20. Tickets are $12.50 single day, $20 two-day ticket, plus fees, and children under 2 are free. Tickets are available only at eventbrite.com. There will be no in-person ticket sales. Parking available at Gate 3 for $10. Expo New Mexico is located at 300 San Pedro Dr. NE.

7Dog days of summer

The Albuquerque Isotopes close out their homestand against the El Paso Chihuahuas this weekend. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, and Saturday, Aug. 19, with fireworks following Saturday’s game, weather-permitting. Head to the park at 1:35 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, for Jordan Pacheco bobblehead day. Tickets start at $9 at milb.com/albuquerque.
