If you have not made plans on how to spend the last day of 2023, there are plenty of options in the greater Albuquerque area. Venue Plus has put together a roundup of things to do this New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, that includes some family-friendly celebrations.
24K MAGIC: A NEW YEAR’S EVE EXPERIENCE
Step into a night of glamour and celebration at Damacios Bar & Tapas, 722 Central Ave. SW. Dance to the sounds of DJ Clout and DJ Tomnice from 9 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. A countdown and champagne toast will take place at midnight. A BLACK & WHITE NEW YEAR’S EVE AFFAIR
Enjoy an unforgettable, glamorous night filled with music, live comedy, dancing and fun from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown, 2600 Louisiana Blvd. NE. A VERY TAYLOR SWIFT NYE WITH DJ FLO FADER
Calling all Swifties! DJ Flo Fader will be curating a music video dance party dedicated to the reigning queen of pop and the music that influenced her from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at Tractor Brewing Wells Park, 1800 Fourth St. NW. DANCING THROUGH THE DECADES
Enjoy two parties under one roof from 8:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at Hotel Andaluz, 125 Second St. NW. DJ Juan Velasco kicks off the festivities in the Casablanca Ballroom. In another room, Kari Simmons & The Groove Line will have you dancing the night away in the Barcelona Ballroom. Full bars will be available throughout the hotel and complimentary valet parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Party favors, a champagne toast at midnight and an elevated tapas menu will be part of the event. Tickets are $175 per person and $300 per couple, plus fees. VIP section tickets in the Barcelona Ballroom are $2,000 and include tickets for 10 people, three bottles of champagne throughout the evening, and a private snack bar. ‘EAST COAST TOAST’ GATSBY GALA
This completely non-alcoholic event will bring in the new year on East Coast time. Come dressed to impress in your Roaring ’20s attire for the event being held from 4:20 p.m. to 10:20 p.m. at 1014 Central Ave. SW, Studio A. Meraki Coffee and Market will put together a grazing table of delectable bites and Tori’s Cakes will provide the sweets. Other offerings include kombucha, elixirs, ceremonial caco, Kangen alkalized water, medicinal infusions, an oxygen bar and chair massages. Coyote Brothers, DJ Side Affex, DJ Bruno, DJ Valeria and comedian Bonnie Bigheart will keep things lively. Tickets are $65 per person at eventbrite.com.
NEW YEAR’S EVE BEFORE DARK
Spend a family-friendly New Year’s Eve from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science (NMMNHS), 1801 Mountain Road NW; and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Albuquerque Museum, 2000 Mountain Road NW. Enjoy special hands-on activities from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at NMMNHS. Create art, listen to music from Entourage Jazz from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and enjoy the “O’Keeffe and Moore” exhibition on its last day at the Albuquerque Museum. NEW YEAR’S EVE MASQUERADE
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in style with an amazing celebration that includes party favors, a champagne toast and a balloon drop at midnight. Dance the night away with Animated Jukebox, DJ Cut and Big Worm. The event runs from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at Embassy Suites by Hilton Albuquerque, 1000 Woodward Place NE. Tickets are $40, plus fees. A New Year’s Eve dinner will be served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will include salads and starters including a smoked salmon display, entrees and sides that include a prime rib station and desserts. NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY WITH EL GOZAO + DJ DARLY
This New Year’s Eve dance party will feature live cumbia music by El Gozao in the newly expanded indoor venue at Juno Brewery + Cafe + Art, 1501 First St. NW. DJ Darly will be playing salsa, bachata and more in Juno’s main bar area. The event takes place from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and features complimentary champagne and party favors. NOON YEAR’S EVE AT EXPLORA
Celebrate the New Year at noon with a balloon drop for the whole family at Explora, 1701 Mountain Road NW. The kid-friendly party will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 for children; $8 for students with ID, military, and seniors; and $11 for adults. NOON YEAR’S EVE AND NEW YEAR’S EVE AT SKIDMORE’S HOLIDAY BOWL
Celebrate Noon Year’s Eve from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with bowling, pizza, arcade games, a balloon drop, cake and cider for $20 per person at Skidmore’s Holiday Bowl, 7515 Lomas Blvd. NE. The party continues on the patio at noon with live music for $15 per person or $25 per couple. Guests can enjoy open bowling with pizza and arcade play from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. for up to six people for $99 per lane. Bring in 2024 to the sultry sounds of En Vogue. The talented divas will be part of the “Studio 24” New Year’s Eve event that will take place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. inside the Sandia Grand Ballroom. Ring in the New Year with New Mexico music maker, Gonzalo, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Tlur Pa Lounge. Cover is $35.
