Cooking scissors can be used to cut meat, veggies and more when making meals, or in a pinch, you can use them to cut paracord or canvas caught in a zipper.

It’s nice to have a knife in your kitchen overlanding kit. But if you have one, you need to be sure it doesn’t stab the side of your carrying bag. Or you don’t reach in and get stabbed.

Not that this would ever happen to me.

Enter the cooking scissors.

Use the scissors to cut meat like they do at Korean barbecue restaurants. It also works for veggies and more. Cooking shears are available from Kohl’s for less than $20. Fancy Cutco shears are nearly indestructible, but cost more than $100, though I think I received mine for free for watching a demonstration or two.

In a pinch, you can use your cooking scissors to cut paracord or canvas caught in a zipper.
