Authors Kate Gale, DC Frost and Christina Vo will discuss their novels at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at Bookworks.
Gale is the author of the recently published novel “Under A Neon Sun.” It’s about a community college student who lives out of her car and cleans homes of the wealth in the Los Angeles area, trying to survive on a shoestring budget. When COVID strikes, everything changes for her. Gale has also written seven poetry books, including “The Loneliest Girl,” published by UNM Press. She teaches poetry in the low-residency Master of Fine Arts program at the University of Nebraska, is the editor of the Los Angeles Review of Books and the managing editor of Red Hen Press.

Frost is the author of the murder-mystery “A Punishing Breed.” It is set in Los Angeles, where detective DJ Arias hunts for a murderer at a liberal arts college that is filled with jealousy, racial and sexual tensions, and a formidable bureaucratic hierarchy.
Christina Vo will discuss her book “My Vietnam, Your Vietnam.”

Saturday, Aug. 3, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Sue Houser will autograph copies of her novel “Walter Steps Up to the Plate.” Set in 1927, young Walter is excited about seeing his favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs, play. But his life is upended when his mother is diagnosed with tuberculosis and she moves to Albuquerque to recover. Walter accompanies her.

SANTA FE AUTHOR’S NEW BOOK
Roxanne Howe-Murphy of Santa Fe is the author of the newly published book “Underneath Your Personality: Discover Greater Well-Being Through Deep Living with the Enneagram.” The Enneagram is described as a theory that classifies people into nine personality types based on their motivations, desires and fears.
WRITER’S DEBUT WORK OF FICTION
Kay Cordtz is the author of “A Murder in Old Town: A Novel.” The protagonist is Fortuna, an elegant grandmother from northern New Mexico. She flees an abusive husband, is now living on the streets of Albuquerque. Fortuna becomes entangled in the lives of a criminal and those connected to him. The fates are revealed over a few summer days. Cordtz is an Albuquerque resident who for many years had been a newspaper and magazine reporter, a press secretary and a science writer.
