A new video podcast, GO New Mexico, invites audiences to explore the beauty and diversity of the Land of Enchantment through monthly outdoor adventures. Hosted by Amy Morse, the series highlights adventure ideas through the state’s public lands and natural treasures.

New episodes will be featured on the Albuquerque Journal’s digital platforms, showcasing unique destinations. New Mexico’s landscapes are rich with history and ecology: 15 nationally designated park units managed by the National Park Service, three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the nation’s first designated wilderness, and river networks and wetlands that provide refuge for hundreds of species of wildlife, including majestic migratory birds like sandhill cranes and snow geese. Even within city limits, over 100 scenic trails in Albuquerque offer outdoor opportunities for nature encounters, improving health and wellness that enrich daily life.

Each episode of GO New Mexico offers practical guidance — where to go, what to pack, and how to stay safe — while also featuring guests who share their expertise and passion for outdoor experiences and the protection of the state’s natural resources.

The podcast will feature wellness tips. Research shows that time outdoors lowers stress, lifts your mood and strengthens our connection to the natural world. With its mix of storytelling, tips and nature insights, GO New Mexico aims to inspire both residents and visitors to explore and care for the landscapes that make the state unique.

Podcast host Morse moved to New Mexico after falling in love with its night skies, mountain forests and desert horizons. She’s known for “smell-testing” trees and wildflowers, dancing at sunset, and rarely missing golden hour outside. Morse is a senior communications manager at the Environmental Defense Fund and producer of the award-nominated podcast Degrees: Real talk about planet-saving careers.
