AT TREASURE HOUSE BOOKS & GIFTS
Ronn Perea of Albuquerque will sign his fictionalized memoir “Smiles, Giggles and Laughs” and his historical novel “Elsie and Elsa” from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Treasure House Books & Gifts, 2012 South Plaza St. NW, Old Town.
SANTA FE AUTHOR’S NEW BOOK
Ron Duncan Hart of Santa Fe is the author of the recently published book “Evangelicals and MAGA: The Politics of Grievance a Half Century in the Making.”
Hart said in an email that his study of Christian nationalism started with an ethnographic study in Atlanta and bringing it up to the present.
Paul Harvey, a distinguished professor of history at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, wrote in a prepublication review of the book, “This rich anthropological exploration provides a deeper, empathetic, and even more alarming comprehension than reams of political commentary and polemics.”
BOOK BY LOS LUNAS AUTHOR
Donna Pedace of Los Lunas is the author of the book “Women Warriors: The Hidden Spies of WWII.” Pedace says the book tells the stories of women who operated in secret for the Special Operations Executive in reconnaissance, as well as in intelligence gathering and sabotage, behind German lines in France during World War II.
“This book is my modest effort to give these incredibly brave women some well-deserved recognition. I believe it is the only book that covers all the female field agents who worked for the Special Operations Executive,” Pedace explains.
The SOE, which had British and French sections, was organized at the direction of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in 1940.
