Route 66 Children’s Fishing Derby set for June 7

The Village of Pecos is hosting the Route 66 Children’s Fishing Derby from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 7, at Monastery Lake.

In addition to young anglers having the chance to catch local fish species, the free event will feature community vendor booths, games and offerings from local food trucks.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish will be on hand, and New Mexico Raptors will have an educational display featuring native birds of prey.

Monastery Lake is located at one mile north of Pecos.
