Marble Brewery has plenty to celebrate and it is doing so with several popular events through the beginning of November.

Marble Brewery Westside Taproom is commemorating its 11th year of operation with a Spooky Soiree birthday bash from 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, Oct. 21. The taproom is located at 5740 Night Whisper Road NW.

There will be a special tapping of Marblelous Mac IPA and entertainment by reggae pop band, Reviva. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in their best Halloween costume for a chance to win some great prizes.

“It’s really hard to believe that the Westside is turning 11,” said Barbie Gonzalez, president of Marble Brewery. “It seems like time is going by so quickly. And this taproom has been such an evolution from when it was first conceived. It’s had two expansions. It’s gone through having 12 taps to now having the availability of 26 plus beers. It’s really unique. We had the patio expanded, the interior of the taproom expanded, and then our partnerships obviously expanded because we have Ohana Hut on site and then obviously working with Ironwood (Kitchen) throughout the entire time, which is also pretty incredible.”

Gonzalez credits its loyal West Side customers for keeping the taproom open through trying times.

“We really love that side of town,” she said. “During COVID, it was that side of town, the regulars, that was the most consistent in being present in any way that they could be. I always say the West Side (taproom) is really a reflection of that community on that side of town. And it’s because of them that we’re celebrating 11 years.”

On Sunday, Oct. 22, Marble Brewery Downtown, 111 Marble Ave. NW, will hold its Mutt Masquerade from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration for the canine costume contest will be held from 11 a.m. to noon. Dog owners must be age 21 or older to enter their pet. Prizes will be awarded to the top dogs in three categories: Best Group/Human Pet, Most Creative and Funniest Costume.

Watermelon Mountain Ranch no-kill animal shelter will be at the event from noon to 3 p.m. with adoptable dogs who are looking for their fur-ever home. Marble will donate $1 from every pint sold to the shelter.

Festivities move to Marble Heights Brewery & Taproom when Dragula: Drag Show and Costume Contest takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26. The taproom is located at 9904 Montgomery Blvd. NE.

Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place costume contest winners during this age 21 and older event. Show tickets are $25 per person, plus fees, at holdmyticket.com.

Things head back to Marble Brewery Downtown for Fright Night 2 at MB111. It will be held from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Oct. 28. The spooky dance party will feature a DJ battle between DJ Flo Fader and DJ Xia. Show up in your best costume to win some cool prizes. This is an age 21 and older event.

One of Marble’s most popular events, Muertos Fiesta, takes place from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 5 at the downtown brewery. There will be a special tapping of Marble Spiced Cranberry Gose. Live entertainment will be provided by Vibe Strong, Spanish Broom, Mariachi Xochitl, The Moon Thieves and Reviva. Local artists and vendors will showcase their wares as part of the Muertos Market.

Attendees can bring pictures and candles in honor of departed loved ones to place on the ofrenda. An ofrenda is an altar created to memorialize deceased loved ones during the Mexican celebration of the dead called Día de los Muertos.

“(We’re) really passionate about the holiday itself and what it represents,” Gonzalez said. “It is also the close of our patio season at Downtown 111. In order to go out with style, we always want to have a really great celebration at the end of the season … It’s a celebration of those who have passed and we want to celebrate that in the most positive way possible in true Marble format.”
