Albuquerque Public School will host its annual School Choice Fair on Tuesday.
The event is scheduled from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Berna Facio Professional Development Complex, 3315 Louisiana Boulevard NE, according to an APS news release.
Now in its ninth year, the School Choice Fair will highlight APS's network of 23 K-12 magnet schools, which include learning opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math; the arts; international baccalaureate; and early college credit, the release said. APS has about 11,000 kids in its magnet schools.
"Under one roof, you'll have 23 schools that you can visit in an hour and a half to find what's the best need for your student or your upcoming student," Francesca VerPloegh, executive director for the office of innovation at APS, said in an interview on Monday. "We've worked hard to create a portfolio of options for students and parents to send their kids that are excited and can leverage their academic achievements."
