SANTA FE — The Santa Fe Police Department is seeking information on the whereabouts of a mother and her 6-year-old son, recently reported missing.

Lindy Ziegler, 48, and her son, Odin, were staying at a friend's home in the 1000 block of Don Juan Street in Santa Fe, when Ziegler "abruptly left the home with her son," according to a police news release issued Wednesday. Police said the 6-year-old has not been in school since Oct. 31.

"Ms. Ziegler was recently contacted by Taos Police about a week ago, but they were unaware she was entered as a missing person in NCIC," Deputy Police Chief Ben Valdez told the Journal. "Taos Police are also working leads to see if they are still in the Taos area."

Ziegler and her son may have a dog reddish in color with them and may be in the Taos area.

Anyone with information about their current location is asked to contact Detective Andrea Gonzales immediately at 505-955-5330.

The New Mexico Department of Public Safety recently held its annual Missing in New Mexico event in Santa Fe and hosted the agency's first-ever training for law enforcement handling missing persons cases.
