'Spirit of service': Albuquerque Fire Rescue graduates its 102nd Cadet Class
Twenty new firefighters were ushered into the ranks Thursday as the graduation ceremony for the Albuquerque Fire Rescue 102nd Cadet Class took place at Balloon Fiesta Park.
The cadets completed a 19-week firefighting academy.
Of the freshman firefighters, six will immediately be stationed throughout the city, wherever there are vacancies, while the other 14 will start an eight-week EMT basic training program.
“As they step into these roles,” said AFR Chief Emily Jaramillo, “they embody the spirit of service and commitment that our Albuquerque residents rely on.”
