Thursday morning traffic update: I 40 crashes and new road work in NW cause delays in ABQ
Two crashes on Iinterstate 40 — eastbound near the 12th Street NW exit is causing delays and another between 98th Street and Unser SW — have been cleaned up, according the New Mexico Department of Traffic
A third crash on I-40 eastbound at Rio Grande closing the left lane has been reported by the department.
The department advises drivers to seek an alternate route.
There is also a crash on Eubank Boulevard NE backing up traffic to Central Avenue, according to our media partners at KKOB.
A crash on Second Street at the Montaño NW intersection heading northbound is causing delays, the station advises listeners to expect delays, or utilize Edith Boulevard or Fourth Street NW as detours to avoid the crash.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation has reported new road work east and westbound at mile maker 3 on Paseo Del Norte, and drivers should expect delays.
The work will include "road improvements and new turn lanes," NMDOT's website stated.
