Fire off Bridge near Coors
A large tire fire along Bridge SW, near Coors, sends smoke into the air Sunday morning. No injuries were reported in the incident.

A tire fire in Southwest Albuquerque sent up billows of smoke that could be seen across the city Sunday morning.

At about 11:30 a.m., Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a call of a large outside fire in the 3200 block of Bridge SW, near Coors, agency spokesperson Lt. Jason Fejer said.

Arriving firefighters found a tire fire at an equipment yard with vehicles and pieces of equipment. There was damage to the equipment, but no injuries were reported, he said.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, Fejer said.
