Regarding “A list of deadly shootings on college campuses in the US” (Apr. 18 Journal): Where is KENT STATE or Jackson State or People’s Park at Berkeley? The dead are no less dead for having been murdered by the state! TS

Despite our individual takes on the overall criminality or lack thereof within our migrant population, President Trump is trying to deny DUE PROCESS to a selected group of individuals. Many don’t understand that if he can do it for some then he can do it for all. Be wary. RS

Regarding “Talk of the Town: A suggestion for DOGE pronunciation” (Apr. 13 Journal): Rita Getty’s Letter to the Editor is spot on. I’m sure you can frequently hear shouts emanating from the Oval Office of “Here DOG-E, DOG-E, here DOG-E, DOG-E!” Indicative of today’s White House governance. JPO

Bird flu has been detected in cows, but because of budget cuts, to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy, all across the country, FDA labs will no longer test for BIRD FLU in milk. This is just one example of how Americans are being harmed to help the rich. JH

President TRUMP‘s tariffs will drive up the cost of everything, increasing inflation and risking recession. Burning fossil fuels may lower energy prices but will worsen expensive climate change disasters. Totally secure borders are a fantasy. It’ll take much more than costly, short-term mass deportations. MY

If you’re expecting lower TAXES, think again. The only tax cuts will go to President Trump and his billionaire friends and large corporations. Don’t bother trying to call the feds for help or information. Nobody will be there to answer. RB

Democrats have complained incessantly about federal cuts. When offered federal money and manpower to curb crime, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham declined. New Mexico TAX DOLLARS and resources will be used. Revenue NM could use elsewhere. Over-taxed NM citizens always pay a high price for Democrat political power and control. MM

I had a drunk, unhoused person laying outside my business receiving gate, called 311, I was told to call 911 and request ‘COMMUNITY RESPONDERS‘ to come help this person. Needless to say nobody came. I had to change my delivery date. Does anything work in this city anymore? Anything? CG

I played ARROYO DEL OSO today, the back 9. The city should be embarrassed about the conditions of the fairways. Most of them have more dead areas than grassy ones. In the 1960s, it made a Golf Digest top 100 list. What happened? Very sad looking at it. JK

My high school friend came in from Texas to play golf. I took him to ARROYO DEL OSO and I couldn’t be more embarrassed by the course conditions. The greens were really good but I have seen better pastures than the fairways. My friend has a ranch and said the same. DJT

SAN ANTONIO eastbound is sinking again and coffee cups are flying out of the holders and kids are raising their arms like it’s a roller coaster ride. The street is on top of a landfill from the 60s. RS

If you are concerned about the rising CRIME rate in Albuquerque, stop speeding on the roadways. Small amounts of crime contribute to the overall message that individuals don’t have to obey laws. Your crime is OK. Stop speeding. It’s not OK. CB

To the person who doesn’t see the SPEED CAMERA signs. Have you tried slowing down and looking? They are pretty much everywhere unless weather or a drunk driver knocked them down. JG

Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education needs to be replaced if they can’t find a way to improve the work they do for the district. Scores of 1 are not acceptable. Learn how to work together; take a workshop, create a model, put in more effort. The APS community deserves leaders who are committed. LH

APS: $2+ billion budget, 65,000 students. Worst performance in the nation. Enough already. ABQ taxpayers deserve better. TT

Regarding “Talk of the Town: Mayor Keller refuses to back down to Trump” (Apr. 20 Journal): DM said “MAYOR KELLER refuses to back down to Trump — residents should stand behind the mayor and continue to move forward not backwards.” Residents should read about the damage Mayor Keller has done to Albuquerque. DG

The death of Pope Francis brings to light the hypocrisy of the person who claims to be a Catholic faithful. The Pope was adamant that ABORTION is a violation of scripture and yet our governor continues to promote this practice within our state in defiance of the church’s position.

Regarding “UNM Hospital cuts dozens of jobs in response to federal funding cuts, financial woes” (Apr. 23 Journal): Has the JOURNAL come down with Trump derangement syndrome? Wednesday headline “UNM Hospital cuts dozens of jobs due to federal funding cuts ...” Carefully reading the article reveals only vacant positions were cut. Sounds like good business advice. Please just report the facts without spin. RG

I continue to be blown away by the talent of CHANCEY BUSH. Her front page photo in the April 16 edition Honoring Jackie Robinson is truly award worthy. PM

HEARING AIDS must have a huge profit margin. How else could the companies selling them afford the huge multi-page ads in the Journal, as well as the barrage of first class mail disguised as greeting cards? DN
