Parties. Freebies. Food. Fun.

That's it. Let's not overthink this.

That's the formula for minor league baseball success — in the stands, anyway. And it's a formula the Albuquerque Isotopes, the 2023 Bob Freitas Triple-A Organization of the Year knows better than to mess with.

So when Albuquerque's popular Triple-A franchise on Thursday announced its 2024 promotional schedule, there was no surprise seeing what highlighted the team's giveaway and promotional calendar: six Mariachis de Nuevo Mexico nights, 14 postgame firework shows, a Green Chile Cheeseburger night, $1 hot dog nights, Taco Tuesdays, multiple jersey and hat giveaway games and the return of lowrider bobblehead night and more.

How does a team that has had nine consecutive seasons with a record below .500 not only keep the fans coming in droves, but actually lead the entire Pacific Coast League in attendance last year?

This is how.

While you can see the entire promotional schedule below, here are five Isotopes promotions announced for the coming season that caught this reporter's eye.

Mariachis de Nuevo Mexico adult Poncho giveaway (April 13)

These Mariachis ponchos will be the giveaway on April 13.

That's a mouthful, but this season's item you can't live without despite not even knowing it existed before today are the turquoise, Mariachis de Nuevo Mexico-themed ponchos the Isotopes are giving away on April 13 to the first 3,000 fans 16 years and older.

The Sugar Land Space Cowboys may have a cool name, but good luck trying to play well in a stadium full of turquoise poncho-clad New Mexicans screaming at you for nine innings.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration (May 5)

Isotopes? Mariachis? Either way fans keep coming back — in record numbers
Christa Zambrano and Robert Perea sport their Mariachi jerseys as they watch the Isotopes take on the Sugar Land Space Cowboys at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque on May 5, 2023.

As you might have guessed, this party will come during the Isotopes' May 5 game against the Round Rock Express. As it has every year the Isotopes are at home for a May 5 game since the 2014 debut of the team's wildly-popular alter ego the Mariachis de Nuevo Mexico, the game will be a party mixing a pregame Al Hurricane Jr. concert with a Mariachis de Nuevo Mexico adult jersey giveaway, postgame fireworks and plenty of other in-game entertainment, music and dancing around the stadium. In 2014, the Cinco de Mayo game set an Isotopes Park record with 16,348 fans in attendance. Last year's 15,817 crowd was one of minor league baseball's largest in the country.

Fans get three chances to add free adult jerseys to their collection this season: March 30 with jersey hoodies sponsored by New Mexico's CW, May 5 Mariachis jerseys sponsored by Rio Grande Credit Union and Sept. 15 more Mariachis jerseys sponsored by Toyota.

Food! (July 27)

Green Chile Cheeseburgers baseball
Green Chile Cheeseburgers night is coming back in the 2024 season.

OK, so the food at Isotopes Park is on point every night. For the purposes of this exercise, here are the specialty nights you need to know about.

Green Chile Cheeseburgers night, brought to you by Blake's Lotaburger, will feature the Isotopes playing their one annual game as a food — yes, they will be called the Green Chile Cheesburgers for the night — on July 27 with unique uniforms, hats and plenty of green chile options around the park.

Want more? Taco Tuesday nights will be May 28 and Aug. 27 and $1 hot dog nights will be April 23 and July 23.

Low...ride...errrr bobbleheads! (July 13)

Yet another promotion that would be good enough on its own, this year's return of the lowrider bobblehead giveaway is again coupled with one of the team's six Mariachis night games. There will also be the annual lowrider show around, and in, the stadium.

MORE: Throw in five hat giveaway nights, including ear flap hats given away for the March 29 opening night game against the El Paso Chihuahuas, schedule magnets, baseball cards, lunch backs, dog bowls and other specialty giveaways and there will be plenty of opportunities to fill up your closet with Isotopes gear this season.
