Ice Wolves: NAHL goalie honored ahead of weekend tussle with Amarillo Wranglers
Goalie Jackson Fuller has played more games than any other New Mexico Ice Wolves goalie.
This Friday and Saturday, the New Mexico Ice Wolves NAHL team will host anopponent from the wild west, the Amarillo Wranglers.
Wa-Pi, a wolf from the Wanagi Wolf Fund and Rescue, will be making an appearance on Friday and on International Women’s Day on Saturday, the team will be recognizing women from the organization for its Women in Sports Night.
LAST WEEK: The Ice Wolves swept the El Paso Rhinos at home, securing the points needed to boost them into fourth place in the South Division. Andy Earl scored both goals in a 2-0 win Friday and the Ice Wolves won 2-1 on Saturday.
RECORDS AND STANDINGS: The Ice Wolves moved from fifth to fourth place and boast a record of 24-20-2-3 record. The Wranglers are eighth in the division with a record of 18-24-1-3. The teams played in Amarillo in January, where the Ice Wolves swept the Wranglers, putting up seven points over the two-game series.
PLAYERS TO KNOW: Goalie Jackson Fuller was recently recognized as the NAHL South Division Player of the week as well as the NAHL Goalie of the Month for February. After last Saturday’s game against the El Paso Rhinos, he earned the title of most games played by an Ice Wolves’ goalie, having appeared in 67 games throughout in the last three seasons. He had a 6-1 record in February, with a 1.86 goals-against average and a .942 save percentage.
