If there was one thing that probably defined the 2025 prep volleyball season more than anything, it was the thunderbolt right arm of Addison Massey.

For three years, she’s been punishing defenses as Las Cruces High School’s explosive outside hitter.

And for the third straight year, the 6-foot-1 Massey has been recognized as the Gatorade Player of the Year in New Mexico.

The Kansas State signee finished her senior season with 571 kills, including 36 in a four-set victory over La Cueva last November in the Class 5A state championship match.

She also had 221 digs for the Bulldawgs, plus 51 aces and a .639 kill percentage.

Massey was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American second team. She has led the Bulldawgs to three consecutive state titles.

Massey was home schooled, but had a 4.0 GPA during the fall.
