New Mexico Ice Wolves looking for host families ahead of season opener
The New Mexico Ice Wolves begin the 2025-26 season with a three-game homestand Sept. 12-14 at Outpost Ice Arenas.
The New Mexico Ice Wolves open up the 2025-26 season with a home series against the Amarillo Wranglers next week at the Outpost Ice Arenas.
The Ice Wolves finished 31-21 and in fourth place of the South Division of the North American Hockey League last season. New Mexico lost in the first round of the playoffs.
Kyle McKenzie is now the head coach after serving two years as an assistant. He’s looking for three key things as the players begin to take the ice — competing at a high level, fostering team camaraderie and having fun doing it.
The Ice Wolves, which bring in players ages 18 to young 20s from around North America, are searching for local host families. Players live with host families throughout the season as they work to achieve their goals of playing NCAA college hockey and beyond. Learn more about being a host family at nmicewolves.com or email hostfamilies@nmicewolves.com.
