Vote: High school football star of Week 10

Published Modified

Here's a look at the high school football players who filled the stat sheets in Week 10. Which player should be this week's star? Cast your vote below.

Manuel Chavarria, sr., QB, Bloomfield

What a wonder Chavarria has been at QB for 4A’s top-ranked Bobcats. Chavarria added five more touchdown passes to his season total (which was 33 before Week 10) and Bloomfield routed Española Valley 62-12.

Jordan Herrera, jr., RB, Los Alamos

Herrera is just a force of nature for the undefeated Hilltoppers. While he had only one rushing TD Saturday against Valley, he was brilliant for Los Alamos, hauling it 26 times for 230 yards and carving out huge chunks nearly every time he touched the ball.

Landon Cochran, soph., LB, Hope Christian

Gonna show some love for a stellar defensive performance, and Cochran was all over the field for the Huskies on Friday as they topped No. 3 West Las Vegas. He registered three sacks, forced two fumbles and had two fumble recoveries in a shutout victory.

Luke Cieremans, jr., QB, Los Lunas

Older brother Paul was a fantastic signal caller for the Tigers, and little brother Luke appears to be quite the athlete, too. Cieremans completed 17 passes for 261 yards and four touchdowns versus Atrisco Heritage, and he also ran for a score for Los Lunas.

Isaiah Carpenter, jr., QB, St. Pius

The rifle-armed Carpenter is such an impressive specimen, and he continues to make headaches for defenses. On Friday against Valencia, Carpenter averaged over 20 yards per completion, and tossed four touchdown passes. He also rushed for a TD for the Sartans.
