John C. Gallegos It is with great sadness that the family of John C. Gallegos announces his passing on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the age of 71 years. He was born on November 3, 1953 in Las Vegas, NM to Onofre and Margaret Gallegos. He was preceded in death by his parents, his uncle Julian Estrada and aunt Erenea Estrada, brothers, Mark, Robert, and Onofre Jr., and sisters Patricia and Julia. He will forever be remembered by his sons Damiaan and Johnathan, his daughter Andrea and her children Adalaide, Josiah, Elijah, and Madalyn, and his stepdaughter Brialonna Zachery and her children Jeremiah and Jenoah. John is lovingly remembered by his brothers and their families Michael and Rhonda, David and Linda, his sisters and their families, Lena Naranjo, Rita and Marcello Baca, Priscilla Rael, Lorraine Drake, Loretta and Joseph Chavez, and Mary Ann Carreon, along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. John received his education at Roberson High School, graduating in 1971, John proceeded to earn a degree in Biology from Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM. John was Honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1979. John proudly worked alongside his siblings at Pacific Pearl Hotels for over 27 years. He was a General Manager of two 4-star hotels at the same time in San Antonio. John was later promoted to Vice President of Operations, trusted with overseeing many hotels and resorts, including the firm's largest and most expensive assets. John was a natural born leader, and he mentored and inspired many. He was respected and admired by all his personnel who developed tremendous loyalty to him. In this difficult time, we are comforted by memories of his love and dedication to his family. He will be remembered as an incredible leader and amazing father. A rosary will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday March 20, 2025 at Daniel's Mortuary, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM, and a Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 12500 Carmel Ave NE, Albuquerque NM, at 10:30 with a reception to follow after in the reception room.
