Feeling festive
The Blossoms and Bones Music Festival is coming to Ghost Ranch on Thursday, Sept. 11, Friday, Sept. 12, and Saturday, Sept. 12. Enjoy the music of Ani DiFranco, Lucy Dacus, Santigold, Blind Pilot and more. Tickets start at $166.94, plus fees, at ghostranchmusicfest.com; children 14 and under free. Furry fliers
The inaugural Run the Runway & Mutt Strut 5K is coming to the Double Eagle II Airport at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. The fundraising event supports the city of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department and the Experimental Aviation Association’s Young Eagles. Eventgoers can race solo, bring their pooch or “borrow” a dog from Animal Welfare. Registration is $35 in advance and $40 day of, at abqsunport.com/runtherunway. Scavenger hunt
The ABQ BioPark Zoo is honoring some special scavengers during International Vulture Awareness Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. The event will feature discovery stations to learn about condors and vultures, vote for their favorite vulture, make crafts and more. Admission to the zoo is $1-$19.50 at artsandculture.cabq.gov, and free for qualified individuals. The zoo is located at 903 10th St. SW.
Feeling crafty
Open Space Visitor Center is hosting an arts and crafts fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. Vendors will be on hand with handmade jewelry, pottery, paintings and more. The event is free to attend. The Open Space Visitor Center is located at 6500 Coors Blvd. NW.
Reaching the summit
The Devon Allman Blues Summit is bringing The Devon Allman Project, along with special guests Jimmy Hall, Larry McCray and Sierra Green, to The Lensic Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9. Tickets are $35-$55, plus fees, at ampconcerts.org. The Lensic is located at 211 W. San Francisco St. in Santa Fe.
Got the blues
Guitarist Tab Benoit is bringing his blues sound to New Mexico in two events this week with GA-20. First, Benoit will play at the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s Albuquerque Journal Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9. At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, find Benoit at The Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe. Tickets are $35-$54 for the Albuquerque concert, and $37-$55 for the Santa Fe concert, at ampconcerts.org.
Top brass
The Magnolia Brass Quintet is coming to the University of New Mexico’s Keller Hall at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9. The all-women group features Julia Bell and Brynn Marchiando (trumpets), Katey Jahnke (horn), Megan Boutin (trombone), and Genevieve Clarkson (tuba).
