If the Lobos want to upset UCLA, they’ll have to do so without a key receiver.

Wide receiver Keagan Johnson will miss Friday's game against the Bruins with an undisclosed injury, per New Mexico’s initial availability report.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Kansas State transfer has caught eight passes for 48 yards this season, but did not practice this week. He dealt with hamstring injuries this summer, including one that held him out for the majority of fall camp.

UNM will also be without receiver in Kader Diop, safeties Austin Brawley and C.J. Johnson, and offensive lineman Tevin Shaw, per the report. The two Lobos with season-ending injuries — wide receiver Evan Wysong and running back Darrion Bowers — were not listed on this week’s initial report.

The Mountain West announced in August that all 12 league programs are required to identify players who will or could miss league contests. MW teams have the option to release availability reports ahead of nonconference games but are not required to do so; UNM has filed reports ahead of two nonconference games this season.

A second availability report will be posted for each team (with any changes) three hours prior to kickoff.

Here’s UNM’s initial availability report ahead of Friday's game:

S Austin Brawley – Out (Full Game)

WR Kader Diop – Out (Full Game)

S C.J. Johnson – Out (Full Game)

WR Keagan Johnson – Out (Full Game)
