Patrick Maldonado Patrick "Pat" Maldonado passed away on
Patrick Maldonado Patrick "Pat" Maldonado passed away on Monday, December 23rd, 2024 surrounded by family and friends who loved and cared for him deeply. He is survived by his son, Marcus Maldonado; grandson, Ari Maldonado; mother, Mary Helen Gurule; brother, Greg Gurule; father, Bernie Jaramillo; sister, Sonya Martinez; sister, Marcella; and brother, Bernie Jr. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren, and countless friends who will miss his extraordinary caring nature. Patrick is preceded in death by his cousin, Kathy Holguin; Aunt (Nina) Pauline Maldonado; Uncle Max Maldonado; Aunt Alice Maldonado; and Uncle Johnny Maldonado. Pat was a cherished grandfather, father, brother, son, mentor, and best friend. Patrick was born and raised in Albuquerque. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1989, where he served as student body president, pep rally facilitator, and became the school's first news anchora tradition that continues to this day. He was affectionately known as "Mizzack" during his time on the air and while DJing events. Throughout his career, Patrick worked in sales for several companies, including The Albuquerque Journal, Time Warner, AOL, and Verizon. In his later years, he became a certified world traveler, visiting 10 countries and 20 states, often independently navigating his journeys with prosthetic legs or in his wheelchair. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, making friends wherever he went. It was not uncommon for him to invite 7 to 10 friends or family members to join him for meals or to watch a game. His phone was always ringing, and he often spent half the day chatting with loved ones. A true man's man, Patrick was always available to catch a game with friends, except on the weekly occasions when he prioritized dinner with his son or made the seven-hour drive to Albuquerque to take his mother out for dinner and to the casino. He consistently expressed his love for his family, and his affection for piñon was well-known. Through his parenting, he taught the importance of befriending everyone and standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. Despite facing significant health challenges, he never complained and always maintained a smile, even in pain. His deep faith in Jesus Yeshua and the support of his family and friends kept him grounded. As we remember my dad, Pat, I hope we are inspired to slow down, cherish time with family and friends, pray daily, and be grateful for life's blessings. Thank you all for your prayers, love, and support. Viewing & Rosary Thursday, January 9, 2025, 1:30pm-3:30pm, Noblin Funeral Home, 2211 E Main St, Los Lunas.
